Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m a bit of a gamer. I am cursed with horrid hand-eye coordination though, so first person shooters are out (and they make me motion sick), but I love turn-based strategy games like Civ3.
So you can imagine my delight when I found out about this great project which built a Canadian history mod for Civ3. Gamers (I’m not going to say students, because I plan on playing this just as soon and J sets up our gaming server at home) can choose to play the English, French, Ojibwe, Hurn, Mohawk, Algonquin, Montagnais Mi’kmaq or Abenakie in 3 episodes. Information from references such as the Canadian Encyclopedia are also included in the game, as well as links to on-line information. Cool. Now if only the expansion worked on my mac…
