Posted by roberta in : General , add a commentOn Thursday, the Technology department was honoured with a surprise visit by representatives from WWN and First Voices Coordinator, Peter Brand. We talked about typing in the Nisga’a language on PCs and Macs, as well as about resources produced by First Voices. An updated macintosh keylout is available on the SD92 downloads page, and First Voices hopes to have their new PC and Macintosh fonts and keylayouts on the Nisga’a portal on their website within a few days.
Peter was excited to meet Ts’ak, puppet celebrity (view all Ts’ak videos on Nisgaa.tv), and Ts’ak and Verna Williams taught Mr. Brand some Nisga’a phrases.
We hope to continue communicating with WWN and First Voices, and envision some great things as a result of future collaboration.
