New How-To’s January 24, 2007
Posted by roberta in : learn, play, create , 3 commentsWhen a down-river principal asked for directions to set up and post to our school district blogging system, I got out my browser and went to town taking screenshots. This is my usual approach, given that I don’t have screencasting software. I take screenshots of everything, make a document with written directions punctuated by (hopefully) explanatory screenshots, save it as a .pdf, and Bob’s your uncle. But this time, I decided to try something new.
Our new macbooks have been coming with Comic Life installed, and I am in love. It’s easy to use (my kids were making comics within seconds) and most importantly, fun. (I love the way the speech bubbles make a squeaking noise when I stretch them)
So I wondered if I could use Comic Life to make a how-to. Here are the results:
I had fun making these, and unless the end-users rebel, I think I’ll do them this way again.
*update: the .pdf files don’t seem to want to open. I’ll try to troubleshoot wordpress when I have a minute- until then, I apologize for their inaccessibility.
